History of Chisago City
Swedish immigrants founded this small city in Minnesota back in the 1850s. The city got its name from Chisago Lake. The original settlement was located one mile south but progress brought the railroad, the town got bypassed in 1880. So they adapted and moved it closer to it in order for the city to thrive. US highway 8 is the main artery that the community uses.

Wagon Wheel Café and Pizza – The pizza and garlic bread are totally superb. The spaghetti with meatballs are great too. The place gets busy but the attentive staff makes sure you get seated as soon as possible. Do try the breakfast croissants. Simply delicious.
The Northern Lake Tavern – Great food, great ambience and excellent service. Do try the Oriental chicken salad simply delicious. Food is beyond explanation and is cooked with a lot of attention to detail. The Buffalo wings are a must try.
Don Julio – The food is superb and with a large and varied menu there is something for everyone. Terrific service and ambience. If you like Mexican food, this is the place to be.
